PREPARING FOR THEIR FUTURE

Eco friendly street wear label, boutique marketing collective and home care agency teams up with Godfrey Athletics to give back to the communities of Central Ohio for the Project: Prepared school supply giveaway.

Columbus, Ohio – July 2010 - With the excitement of the upcoming 2010-2011 school year approaching this beautiful metropolis, many families of Central Ohio find they are struggling to afford the basic school supplies necessary for success.  Phenology, The Repertoire Collective and Lifesaver Health Care have joined forces with Godfrey Athletics to host the Inaugural “Project: Prepared”. “Project: Prepared” was created by these dynamic entrepreneurs to obtain 100% monetary and supply donations from local business owners, organizations and individuals in order to distribute book bags brimming with school supplies to at least 350 school aged children.

Phenology, The Repertoire Collective and Lifesaver Health Care were heavily involved with a discontinued   program last year which supplied 318 children with book bags filled with supplies. With a frightening 10.7%  unemployment rate in Ohio, the organizers of “Project: Prepared” recognized that continuing the proactive spirit of giving back would help countless Central Ohioans facing financial struggles for the current school year.

The “Project: Prepared” school supply giveaway will take place on August 15 at the Barnett Recreation Center (1184 Barnett Road) during the hours of 12:00 PM until 3:00 PM. This community supported location is easily accessible by COTA, has ample FREE parking and is also in close walking distance to communities that are the most in need of assistance. In addition to distributing school supplies, there will be snacks and beverages on hand, a DJ providing age-appropriate music, basketball tournaments for the children, a sparkling mini water park and local celebrities, athletes, and community leaders in attendance to shake hands, take photos and speak with the kids to get them motivated for the up-coming school year.

Preparing the children of families who stretch their resources to exhaustion for a balance of educational and lifestyle necessities, “Project: Prepared” is doing its part to make sure every child has the encouragement and tools to begin school from day one as a success.  “Project: Prepared” will service children who are entering grade levels of Kindergarten through 8th on a First Come, First Served basis while supplies last.
